We have been going up to Manchester for 10 years now and make it there about 2 or 3 times a year. We love the local restaurants and finally tried Seasons. They took over the old Sox Mart space and made it into a nice open layout with a full bar and tv's all around. We started with some Hungarian Mushroom Soup and Smoked Gouda Fondue. The soup was a tad under seasoned but the Gouda Fondue was just perfect, if a little under sized. If there was about 25% more fondue it would have been perfect. We then had the Black Quinoa & Kale Salad, Spinach Lasagna Alla Bolognese for our entree's. The salad was fine and the Lasagna proved to be an interesting dish. The plate came out and it was more like pasta tossed with lasagna ingredients. There was no form to it and it didn't really looked baked. The Bolognese part of it was also disappointing. It tasted like they took tomato sauce from a can and added meat and called it Bolognese. While the food was good, we wished the service would have been better. Our waitress never let us know of any of the specials and when we overheard what they were, we know we would have liked to try one of them. We also had to ask three times to get water and towards the end of service couldn't seem to find our server anywhere. So while not our first choice, we'll certainly think of giving it another try if they are still around in the summer.

Unlike the reviewer who found a waiter unpleasant, I've not experienced this and actually found staff pleasant, well dressed and unobtrusively welcoming and helpful. I've only had lunch here on a few occasions sometimes outside and sometimes at the bar. I find the place to be pleasant and bright, the food creative and good, the drinks perfect. Additionally, members of my family and some friends have also said they enjoyed their time at this place. I think a member of the same family who has Seasons operates an adjacent furniture store which too is attractive, and must have had a hand in making this place so inviting. I would not, and do not, hesitate to recommend this place to others.

Perfect end to a romantic weekend getaway. We sat out on the patio, had a guy playing acoustic Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, JT and Beatles. Nifty garden, tiki torches. Wild Mushroom Ravioli: yummy Maple Roasted Pear & Arugula Salad with chicken: yummy New York Strip: perfect Lava Cake a'la mode: heavenly Good service.

On vacation and stopped here for dinner. Very friendly staff. Nice bar selection. We got a couple of burgers that were yummy. My son had the pizza which he devoured. If I'm passing through, I'd stop by again.
(4)Ed H.
They food was really good. The service was not horrible, but I would describe it as below average. The prices were reasonable.

I stopped into Seasons for a late lunch after hiking mount equinox. I was kinda grubby from hiking in the rain so I opted to sit on the patio. The customers on the inside looked nice and polished. The interior of the restaurant was with nice brick bar and rustic decor. The outdoor patio is very nice with built in space heaters and great music playing on an outdoor speaker. The staff was also very friendly. I ordered the kale and quinoa salad, which was fresh and amazing. I also ordered a size of sweet potato fries...highly recommend! My fiancé got the sampler platter with white bean and escarole soup and a panini. We both raved about our meals and hope to go back again soon.
(5)Laney B.
The food here was great! I had a veggie burger, very fresh, flavorful. My fiance had scrod with lobster special and that was great too. Flavor and presentation was nicely plated. Our particular server was underwhelming. Upon looking around, it seemed like our server was the least attentive, wouldn't necessarily judge the whole place on that one person. Prices are very reasonable. This would probably be one of the few reasons I'd visit Manchester again, otherwise, town is really too slow with little to do.

My family and I stayed at the Equinox over the New Year's holiday...we decided to wing it on New Year's Day. Most restaurants in the area--including Seasons--do not take reservations for parties under 5 (we're 3.) They were extremely busy when we arrived at 6:30pm; the owner, Paul, was taking names, seating, busing tables...whatever he needed to do. Told us it would be about an hour wait, so we watched the Florida State vs. Oregon game and enjoyed a cocktail at the bar. (We could have eaten at the bar, but preferred a table.) We were seated at a hi-top table within 45 minutes. My husband and I split the New England Clam Chowder (it was DELICIOUS...and we NEVER order NE Clam Chowder...always Manhattan...) and the Shrimp Fried Rice appetizer. I had the swordfish, my husband enjoyed steak of some sort, and our son had the burger. Food was fresh and served hot in a very timely manner. Service was wonderful, and our son was happy to see a hot fudge brownie sundae on the dessert menu. Only negative was a watery cup of coffee....but I feel the restaurant still deserves 5 stars.

We came in for a quick supper and a drink. Had a crisp Riesling with the Bogo burger. The burger was grilled to perfection and topped with fresh vegetables and sharp cheddar. Pretty good overall!

Seasons is pricey and the menu is rather limited but it manages to be classy and casual at the same time. My wife and I stopped in for dinner after doing some shopping and were a bit worried that we might look out of place in shorts and t shirts. But once we arrived inside it seemed pretty split between the patrons who were dressed up and those who were slumming it like we were. All of our food was very good - great flavors, beautiful plating and all of it cooked to perfection. I don't know that I'll ever have another scallop cooked as well as the one I had here. That said, the portion size was very, very small on all of our dishes. I will always choose quality over quantity, so better flavor outweighs the size of my plate, but these were tiny courses, appetizers and entrees alike. We will certainly visit again. And maybe when we do, and the server offers the daily special of a 16oz pork chop, I won't scoff at how big it is.

On a day trip from Stockbridge, we headed to the Dorset Inn for lunch, only to learn that Wednesday lunch is not to be had, so we turned back to Manchester to another old favorite (2nd tier.) Alas, it us now a Thai joint and not the thing for today - or any day, actually. Really, how many genuine Thais live in Manchester? Can you name one? Really? What to do? A young lady serving outside at a little cafe highly recommended Mulligans, up the road toward the Equinox, which we visited and left before ordering (a story for another time) wasn't quite what we wanted. And we weren't really dressed for the Equinox, so we tried Seasons, our blood sugar really low and expecting very little. What a surprise! Seated under the portico, we were waited on by Dave, a very pleasant and genial guy. (who refused to divulge the secret of the fantastic cole slaw despite repeated begging and the almost proffer of a Benjamin.) We ordered the Waldorf salad and the California club, preceded by the most amazing and fantastic artichoke fritters! The food was uniformly excellent, with a gold star to the cole slaw and the fritters. Next time we're up here we'll stop in again. Thumbs waaay up.
(5)Melanie R.
Very limited menu, but the panini I had was very good, as was the clam chowder.
(4)Jeanne F.
Good food and good service. Had the California club, flatbread pizza, burger and tofu wrap. Maple cream dipping sauce with the sweet potato fries was very good. Somewhat pricey at $62 for 4 lunches and just 2 sodas.
(4)Speshl J.
What an off the hook dinner. Accommodated our party of 11 with an hour's notice. Apps all great...ahi tuna, mushroom ravioli and white whine mussels (I usually prefer red but wow). entrees were all flawless and delicious. Even their bread was warm and fresh. Really suprised our New York crew on vacation. Will def return when we come back.
(5)Terrell W.
The best New England Clam Chowder...in a long time. Great beer and drinks, smooth atmosphere, and excellent service.
(5)Bob C.
What a pleasant surprise. I had the vodka spaghettini with sausage and it was amazing. My wife had the pasta capellini and loved it. Service was just a touch slow, but friendly.
(4)Kathleen B.
Came for drinks last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Every restaurant there was completely packed so we could not get seats anywhere. We were finally able to be seated at the bar and ordered appetizers. We got the duck liver pate and wings. Each were delicious and the drinks were equally good. They can make a pretty good dirty martini!
(3)Susan T.
Our family dined here over the weekend on a ski trip to Stratton Mtn. Wonderful food, gracious hostess & pleasing atmosphere/decor. Great for families, or gathering w/ friends or date. Can't go wrong.
(5)Thomas N.
lunch recently.....very attrractive place with loely flowerful outside seating area....we ate inside due to having some grandkids with us.....everyone enjoyed the visit....drinks were good though small....meal was great, everyone thoroughly enjoyed
(4)Julie W.
The meal was delicious and the service impeccable! We had the quinoa salad, gluten free vodka pasta with sausage, salmon, another salad between the four of us. We all loved our entrees! The owner seated us and was very welcoming. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
(5)Angela W.
A great place for a variety of menu options. The menu changes with the season. Great burgers if you're looking for a simple meal. Outside seating is in a beautiful garden spring through fall and the indoor atmosphere is great. If you don't know what you want for dinner give this a try, something on the menu will catch your attention.
(4)John K.
Stopped in for lunch when we were in the area - the building was charming and the garden added nicely to the relaxed atmosphere. The bar is fully stocked with just a few beers on tap. Overall the food was mixed. The turkey burger with sweet potato fries was terrific, but the California club was uninspired and plain. Everything seemed to lack seasoning, and the food came out at room temperature with scalding hot plates. Oh, the sesame chicken bites appetizer was drenched in sauce that left the breaded chicken completely soggy.
(3)Nancy M.
My husband and I and two of our adult children stopped at Seasons Restaurant for lunch. We each had a different sandwich...The California Turkey Club, the gourmet grilled cheese, the hummus veggie wrap and the chicken sandwich. We all shared. They were each a marvel unto their own. My daughter is a bit fussy and "tweaked" her grilled cheese. The waiter was wonderful! I would strongly recommend this place to anyone!!! I would next try the egg salad with dill/scallion dressing.
(5)Molly R.
We visit Vermont a few times a year. I have eated here several times for lunch and it has always been great. I usually get the soup and sandwich combo. The owner is usually working the floor and makes a point to go around and check on tables. I like this kind of service. You really can't go wrong!
(5)Peter W.
This was our first visit to the area and a bartender at another restaurant recommended Seasons. It is fairly new. The place was casual but very nicely decorated. They were really busy when we arrived and we got the last table. The staff was friendly despite having a lot going on. We were well taken care of. Our food was delicious! The menu changes often and they use lots of fresh, local ingredients. It was a great evening!
(5)Suz S.
Have been here numerous times. This is one of our stops whenever in Manchester. All the food is always yummy. If they have the tomato soup, TRY it! Excellent wine list as well as many wines by the glass. Overall a must.
(5)Logan S.
Had dinner here at the bar on Wednesday night, the patio was jammed seeing as it was a nice evening but there were plenty of spaces inside and at the bar. Bar service was quick and friendly, and their cocktail list was reliable but also creative. We had the rice cake tuna app and burgers. The app was great although the burgers were a bit overcooked (yet still very good) as a home grown local I would absolutely come back again.
(5)Sarah W.
One of our favorite places. Easy casual atmosphere but not just a kid place. Great bar. Have come here with family, friends, just my son, girl friends etc.
(5)Terry M.
Seasons is great! We had the artichoke fritters, clam chowder, chicken piccata, shrimp scampi and chocolate lava cake. Everything was great! Service was fantastic. One of our favorite places here in Manchester Village.
(5)Brian L.
We ordered the Kale salad, sweet potato fries, rice cakes w tuna, mussels, and the ramen burger. All but the mussels and Kale salad were poorly executed. The sweet potato fries were on the uncooked side and lacked any flavor, rice cakes were masked w too much apple to taste the tuna, the raven burger itself was good however the ramen burger was supposed to be crispy and ours was soggy and the burger decintegrated in my hands. All in all being in VT near Stratton the food wasn't bad but far far from great. After reading the reviews I thought I would have picked more winners but alas I was wrong.
(3)Susan R.
First, I will say that my husband fared better with a chicken fajita, and it looked good. Their outside seating area looks nice, but we had to eat indoors, with obnoxious music and TV sets, because there was some construction outside. We started with the Yelp recommended artichoke fritters. These would have been yummy had my palate not been accosted with WAY too much salt. I could not eat them, so I left them to my unfussy guy. The mojito was pretty good, albeit sweet with not enough lime. The beer was cold. 'Good Northshire Pilsner brew. Our server was very friendly, and went out of his way to bring me a CA BLT - though it is only offered on the lunch menu (this was dinner time).I ended up being sorry that I could have it, because it disappointed so much. Was that non-Hellman's mayo I detected? UGH. The turkey was that generic store-bought type with fillers - awful taste and texture. I had visions of real sliced turkey breast. Silly me. The French Fries would have been delicious, except that they were WHITE, not browned -Sog City. I mentioned this (nicely) to our server and he replied; "Oh, that's because they changed the oil". Excuse me? If they changed the oil, they couldn't do so so early in the day - to allow plenty of time to warm up to temp? Inexcusable! My husband ordered Cappuccino cake for dessert. I was taking no chances and asked if it was home made. Our server reluctantly admitted it was not. I asked; "Is it Sysco"? He said yes. $7.75 for a Sysco slice of cake. It looked unappealing so I did not even try a bite. My unfussy man was not so happy either. In conclusion, Season's wants to charge NYC prices for a menu that does not deliver. Cut down on the salt, and rethink the prices, is my advice.

4 stars for the food, 3 for the service. For some reason, Seasons is hit or miss. The food is better than average and the menu changes which is always a plus, but the service here is just meh. Everything in Manchester, is pretty seasonal and much more crowded during the winter time. Every time I've been here, we've been a large group (8+ people). That is always a challenge in itself, but we always make a reservation and they are always ready for us when we arrive. The restaurant was busy post-Christmas, but service was slower than normal. It took 10 minutes to get the wine we ordered and when a beer needed to be returned because the glass was still soapy, it took almost another 10 to get the new beer. In between appetizers and entrees, I'd estimate the wait to be about another 20 minutes and when I asked for ketchup it never came. Aside from the service, the food is always yummy. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. Extra note: I also think it's really tacky when the waitress says she doesn't include gratuity on her bill. I think we would have figured that out by looking.
(3)Jaki G.
The food was good, nothing great. I had the chicken fajitas and my friend had the reuben. Service was not very good, they were busy and we either had a bad waiter or they were under-staffed. Host was rude, asked ppl who were drinking coffee and having dessert how much longer they would be. Then when I pointed out to him that a table left a bag on the chair he said "i can't chase anymore ppl tonight". Haha. I kinda felt bad, but he probably should have kept that to himself. They don't take reservations for parties of like 5 or more I think I heard him say. So they have long waits. Just be ready and don't go w a starving family w kids and all that junk. Happy eating!
(3)Aaron G.
Stopped for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Nice outdoor seating area. Service was friendly but a little uneven. I had the kale and quinoa salad, very tasty and filling. My girlfriend had the arugula and roasted pear salad which she enjoyed.
(3)Kenan F.
We only took out from here but the French Pretzel Dip pretzel bun with prime rib and horseradish creme and au jus deserves 4 stars. It also comes with a small house salad and a delicious house dressing. Pot roast was just ok, maybe 3 stars.
(4)Alisa L.
Lovely service! Delicious fresh food! Great experience! Our salads were all fresh, with great dressings! The Brie appetizer was delicious! The lettuce wraps were phenomenal! The pear salad was great!
(5)Matthew S.
Good food. Bad service. Overpriced. Better options around for the money. Only had 2 servers. They expected slow night, got full house...service was slow. No bread. Scallops portion was very small. Hot lava cake was not hot & not lava.
(3)Robert B.
Based on one visit with a party of four. Menu is expensive, limited and unimaginative. Food is poorly cooked and plated. On this busy night there was just one cook in the kitchen clearly overwhelmed. Service is slow and unskilled. Outdoor seating is noisy and uncomfortable. Nothing about this place works well. Really bad dinner experience.
(1)Douglass W.
Solid place, won't disappoint (good food), but a little overpriced (likely due to location so close to shopping). It's on par with many other local restaurants, but if you can get a mile or so from the shopping the food prices go down and the quality remains the same (thus 3 stars, sorry). Let me be clear, they aren't your "price" gouging type restaurant. More of "stuck in a high rent/high traffic" area. Still, when I'm up in VT, I don't expect Boston prices.
(3)Don C.
I had dinner here with my family this evening. It's a festive place, and seems to be a local favorite. We were warmly greeted by the host who very quickly seated us. The server was very efficient and attentive, and got us our drinks right away. The menu features pretty straightforward American cuisine. I thought the food was good, but nothing special. Here's the run down: Quinoa & kale salad: well prepared, but too heavily dressed and cloyingly sweet. The kale was a little too raw to bring out its flavors. Pizza with feta cheese & tomatoes was great, if you like super thin crust. Chicken tenders were solid. Fish & chips were ok--made from catfish, which seems a bit odd. The cole slaw was heavenly, though. And the fries were very good. The linguine was a little past al dente, but the red sauce was good. Chocolate lava cake was pretty good, but tasted like it was from a box cake. Happy eating!
(3)Liz D.
We had a great lunch here during a stop in Manchester. Service was a little uneven because I think they were turning over for dinner but extremely friendly nonetheless. I had the tuna salad croissant and it was one of the best!
(4)Peter O.
Had a great dinner but overheard the waitress murmur "that is ridiculous" when we gave him his tip. We tipped him 15% because we felt he did a "decent" job. I guess waitresses are expecting more and more every year. Ended a fabulous dinner in a disappointing way.
(2)Dan S.
Stopped by here for lunch while shopping the outlets. Food was good . Staff was very kind and helpful. Would stop by here again if I was shopping in the area.
(5)Jim W.
Great place! Enjoyed our lunch ... at ~4PM (?) .... No, we really did, but the dinner menu, much more complete, isn't available until 5PM. I forget exactly what they called it, but my "Chicken BLT" was fantastic. Their lobster bisque is really good, as well. Don't recall what each of the other 3 at my table got but all were very happy, despite the fact that we were all in the mood for dinner. We're not exactly local but we'll be in the area again, for sure, and we will be back.
(4)Stewart I.
Great food, wait to hear the specials before you decide. Seafood was superb. I'm a meatloaf lover and it was super. A special Yelp out to the water girl! And Erin too. Would have been 5 stars but the Army only counts to four.
(4)Cathy M.
While driving down from Northern VT to Long Island, NY we stopped in Manchester to have lunch at Zoey's Double Hex and were very disappointed to learn that Zoey's is closed on Tuesdays! So I quickly "Yelp'ed" and found Seasons and we decided to try it. The decor was nice and very clean. The wait staff look like they were chosen for their looks. Very clean cut and Abercrombie-ish, but had NO personality. It's funny how the service was fine and we were always able to find our waiter but he didn't come off as friendly and provided only the most basic of verbalizations. I also must comment on how cold it was in this place. I was literally shivering while wearing my coat and noted other patrons were also bundled up. The food was good not great. I had the "Soprano" which is roast beef and cheddar on brioche roll with fries. It was good but nothing special. The French fries were awfully good though. My daughter had the "California Club" which was enjoyable but again not a standout. However my hubby the vegetarian had the Feta, Mozzarella & Roasted Tomato 8" pizza which was really very bland and portioned more as appetizer and not entree size. He sent it back and chose not to reorder. The waiter did remove it from the tab. Next time we are in Manchester we will definitely go to Zoey's over Seasons.
(3)Bob V.
Food was very fresh and of a high quality. Restaurant has a very charming and upscale feel and the staff was attentive and friendly. We felt the prices were a bit high for the quantity of food we received, but it was delicious regardless.
(4)Anne B.
Great food with the most charming waiters. Shrimp ceviche was delicious as was the flatbread with goat cheese. Went two days in a row while vacationing with my daughter. Highly recommend especially because the prices are reasonable in a resort town and the restaurant is so welcoming.
(5)Heather L.
We stopped in for lunch while visiting Manchester. Cute spot, really nice staff, food was average. It wasn't bad, but I'm not sure i would return...
(3)Lorelle C.
Best lunch I have ever had. Clean place, beautiful decor, kind friendly staff. They sat us by the window and winked and said they would pretend a 3rd person was coming as they usually make 3+ people sit there. Got minestrone soup which was thick, hearty, flavorful, easily the best minestrone I have ever had- hands down. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich which was delicious. Flavorful juicy meatloaf, sufficient cheddar cheese, and the bread was chewy and perfectly grilled. The french fries were crisp and all equally cooked, a difficult feat by most restaurants in my opinion. The fiance got the chicken blt which he thought was pretty good, he wasn't as huge of a fan as I was of his sandwich. He agreed on the exceptional taste of the soup, and he also loved his fries. We will be back when we are in town again- thanks Equinox Hotel for the recommendation!
(5)Serena N.
We visited here this past weekend and arrived at 8:30pm for dinner. The restaurant was bustling and there were several people at the bar and tables. We shared the quinoa and kale salad (after reading several positive reviews on yelp) which was really good and fresh. A little expensive for $14, considering the portion size. My husband got the turkey burger which was tasty and the sweet potato fries. They gave a really generous portion of the fries for $3. The feta pizza wasn't that great, as it just tasted like it was re-heated/frozen, and not my favorite. Items were a bit overpriced for the food and location. Also, the waitress really rushed us to get out order in as the kitchen closes at 9pm. Spent $70, the food was overpriced for the quality and location (since it's Vermont).
(3)Amina W.
I stumbled upon Seasons Restaurant while outlet shopping in the pouring rain during my Battenkill vacation this past Memorial Day Weekend. When its raining so terribly, there isn't a whole lot you can do in this area but shop and eat. I had been craving New England Clam Chowdah ever since we crossed state lines into Massachusetts a few days prior, and this place helped put that craving to rest one and for all. Their chowdah was some of the best I'd ever had, and the size of the bowl for the price was impressive. The man-friend ordered a soup-sandwich-salad lunch combo, which was a Chef's special sammie creation with a cup of clam chowder and a nice sized salad portion. I'd definitely be willing to hit this place up again if I ever find myself looking for grub in Manchester, VT... although let's hope next time I'm up there the weather cooperates a little more.
(5)Marcellus W.
We are from out of town. We wanted a quick bite. Very surprised! Great food, great ambiance, family friendly, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend the Clam Chowder.
(4)Paul D.
Given a strong recommendation from a local that this was the place to go for a good burger at an honest price. We had the fajitas, pasta primavera, pasta chicken special (chicken and penne in a marinara cream sauce) and a kids spaghettini. The food was bland at best, felt like it had sat under a badly skewed heat lamp in the kitchen too long and way over priced for what you got (family of four just under $100). Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the cheese fondue appetizer that also under whelmed. The service was very courteous albeit slow on a night when the place was almost empty. Needless to say, we won't be going to that local for anymore recommendations. Maybe we should have had the burger like he recommended.

After a weekend of skiing decided to stop in Manchester on the way home to do a little shopping. We wanted to grab something quick and someone suggested Seasons. This is a very nice looking place with a bar which carries some local Vermont beers. The service was polite and the food was very good. I had a cup of turkey chili which was quite tasty. I also had the "Soprano" sandwich which consisted of a healthy portion of roast beef, provolone, tomato, red onion and horseradish mayo. Yum-O My gf had the Italian specialty which was your Italian meats, provolone, oil and peppers. Also delish. Usually not a big fan of potato salad but this one is worth trying. Nice place to eat, have a good sandwich and a local beer.
